This city walk combines several must see sites of Leuven with some of the town's more surprising hidden corners. Leuven has been known by many names: the oldest university town in the Low Countries, the Beer capital, the Best city of Brabant, and the City on the Dyle. Throughout its life, a number of historical figures, including Napoleon and Joséphine, Stephen Hawking and Bernard Montgomery, visited this famous and unique city and gazed in wonder at the wonder that is its fifteenth century town hall, the Great Beguinage (UNESCO World Heritage site), and the monumental libraries. Follow in their footsteps and discover why Justus Lipsius described this place as the "Pride of Belgium"!
